This Privacy Policy explains how Driftline Ventures LLC ("Shorely," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use the Shorely mobile apps, website, and related services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — your name, email address, and phone number when you create a rider or driver account. Sign-in is passwordless (email code or an OAuth provider), so we never collect a password.
- Payment information — billing details processed through our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our own servers.
- Driver information — if you drive with Shorely, additional details such as your vehicle information, driver's license, insurance, and any documentation required to verify eligibility.
- Communications — messages you send to support, messages between riders and drivers during a trip, ratings, and feedback you submit.
Information collected automatically
- Location data — precise location from your device whenever the app is open and you have granted location permission, so we can match riders with nearby drivers, provide live trip tracking, and calculate fares and routes.
- Device and usage data — device type, operating system, app version, IP address, push notification token, and how you interact with the Services.
- Trip data — pickup and drop-off points, routes, fares, and timestamps.
2. How we use your information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Services, including matching riders and drivers and showing upfront fares.
- Enable live trip tracking and let you share your trip with people you choose.
- Process payments and pay out driver earnings.
- Verify driver eligibility and support safety and trust on the platform.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Send service-related and, where permitted, promotional communications.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share your information
- Between riders and drivers — to complete a trip, we share the limited information needed to coordinate pickup and drop-off, such as first name, pickup and destination, and live location during the trip.
- Service providers — vendors that act on our behalf, including Clerk (authentication), OneSignal (push notifications, using your device's push token), OpenRouter (AI-assisted triage of safety-report text), payment processors, mapping and location providers, cloud hosting, and customer-support tools.
- People you choose — if you use share-trip, the people you share with can see your trip status and location.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users and the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. We retain certain records, such as trip and payment history, for longer where required for legal, tax, accounting, safety, or dispute-resolution purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
5. Your rights and choices
- Access and correction — you can view and update most account information in the app.
- Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to records we must retain by law.
- Location permissions — you can control location access through your device settings, though some features will not work without it.
- Marketing — you can opt out of promotional messages at any time.

6. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app — go to Profile → Help → Delete account — or by emailing privacy@getshorely.com. Deletion removes your account and associated personal data, subject to records we must retain by law (see "Data retention" above).
7. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age required to hold an account, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
